Instead of relying on the headset's built-in cameras, external base stations (lighthouses) are used for greater accuracy and a wider range of motion. This results in a smoother and more immersive VR experience, especially during fast-paced action or games that require pinpoint controller tracking. The Lighthouse Faceplate integrates perfectly with the existing SteamVR setup, eliminating the need to replace the current base stations and controllers.
